The first ever Steel Pan Players Excellence Awards Showcase & Presentation evening.

Giving public recognition to Pan Players who have consistently displayed performances of Excellence within the Steel Pan community.

There will be performances from some of the best Soca artists & Pan Players in the UK to aid in the awards distributed to those worthy of Validation via nomination of votes.

With over 150 prizes to give away for at least 80 achievements. It will be a night of appreciation to many Steel Panists & Steel Pan Players from various areas across England.

Your attendance is of high importance (& participation) as the purpose of this event is to UPLIFT, PROMOTE, GROW & EXPAND OUR CULTURE, in a positive, productive & effective way through showcase of our talent & recognition to some of our great contributors in the Steel Pan community of UK.

The Mark Cherrie Quartet are the UK’s only steel pan led jazz quartet. Their debut album, 'Joining The Dots', was released on Trio Records last year to critical acclaim. In fact, it was awarded 4 stars in the Guardian and in fact made Dave Gelly’s top ten list of jazz albums. The music is a mixture of jazz classics by the likes of Herbie Hancock & Wayne Shorter, to more modern fare by Pat Metheny, as well as some originals too. They band undertook a UK tour last year sponsored by the Arts Council, wowing audiences with their fresh, exciting sound.
