Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars and Petrotrin Phase 11 Pan Groove lead the pack
Five days after the preliminary competition for conventional steel orchestras Pan Trinbago released the results. There were a number of ties in the results beginning with Phase 11 Pan Groove and Neal and Massy All Stars in first place. There was also a tie for fifth place between Caribbean Airlines Invaders and bpTT Renegades. Patrons attending the Panorama preliminaries at the Savannah received an excellent music mix from large conventional bands over a four hour period.
Reigning champion, Trinidad All Stars presented its Panorama offering titled, ‘Thunder Coming’ to a small but lively audience at 1.13 a.m. on Monday morning. Phase 11 Pan Groove delivered their scintillating musical rendition of Len ‘Boogsie’ Sharpe’s Musical Vengeance. Four-time panorama champions, Sagicor Exodus evoked memories of Renegades back in 1991 changing their focus with its new look – opting to remove its canopies. The band sought scientific advice and overhauled its look by redesigning its pan racks in a staircase formation. Arrangers for the semi finalists have a week to analyse their weekend performances to come again to the Savannah on Sunday 27th January in an effort to make it to the Carnival Saturday finals, scheduled for the second consecutive year at Skinner Park, San Fernando.
